What a year!

This has been a great year.  At our last meet (November) we had 19 entries and we set 6 new records.  This made 24 new records for our hard chargers.  None of this could have happened without the dedicated efforts of our members who serve the club and the SCTA.  I would like to take this opportunity to give special thanks to all of our members who supported the club this year.  The energy required for the Lakes duties to keep a club like ours going is considerable.  So thanks again to all who lent a hand doing their tasks with interest and determination

2007 Sidewinder’s Picnic

Who said an old fashion picnic was boring?  Well they sure didn’t come by ours.  With our 25’-0 high suicide-slide, Bonneville Bounce, and our “Widow Maker” mechanical bucking bull, no one was caught sleeping at ours.  Tom Evans and Tom Gerardi survived the Bulls fury for the full 8 seconds earned their spurs in the Balls versus Bulls Club.  After they got some of the fight out of the bull, even Phil Frediger in his eighties gave it a try, then our little sidewinders took turns in the saddle.

Food, did some one say food?  Our five star chiefs Elaine, Don & Tom made sure that no one road home hungry.   The Chili cook-off, headed by Judge Matt Pulley had a tough time picking a winner from the great entries.  By the time the smoke cleared, Charles Partello was the winner.  I was right in there sampling the hot stuff (just keeping them honest).   I ate so much chili that when I got home I had to wipe my but with a snow cone.

The prizes were fantastic. All you guys really came through with the goods.  We had over $3,000.00 worth of door prizes that Dean, Jamie and Shawn handed out.  The “One Million Dollar Prize” was won by Shane Fruediger.  Thanks to everyone who helped make this the best picnic ever!
